NYCLGBTCC joins Relay   

We the NYCLGBTCC are proud in support and honor our friends and family and business partners who still suffer of breast cancer or any kind of cancer and to all those who have survive cancer and in honor of them, we join Relay in support to our lgbt community who suffer or have friends and family that suffer or survive cancer. We hope you join our team or just donate and give us your support!

Here’s some information on it, that you can use to generate interest within NYC LGBT C of C to create a team, or to get involved yourself.

Although few people in the LGBT community are aware of this, cancer does discriminate.  Members of the LGBT community are significantly more likely to get several different kinds of cancer, including breast, cervical, ovarian, anal and lung.   Unfortunately, there are few resources for the LGBT  community when it comes to cancer, so the American Cancer Society is, for the first time, taking its signature community fundraising event, called Relay For Life, and developing it specifically for the LGBT community in NYC, to raise money for cancer screenings, education and treatment in the LGBT communityWe invite you to join us in the 1^st annual NYC LGBT Relay for Life event, to be held Saturday, Sept. 25 (10am – 6pm) at the World Financial Center Atrium in downtown Manhattan.  The theme is Red Carpet Royalty, and there will be all-day main stage entertainment, including celebrities, musical groups, inspiring stories from cancer survivors, a luminaria (lighting) ceremony to remember those we have lost to cancer, as well as the individual team creative community fundraising efforts that also provide entertainment, including costumes, the Walk of Fame and the Yellow Brick Road.  Join a team, create a team (of employees, or friends/family) or sponsor a team, and go wild!  For more information or to sign up or sponsor our team, go to:
